home boarding in west hendred, oxfordshire

Our home boarding service offers a warm, relaxed alternative to traditional kennels, providing your dog with a true home-from-home experience while you’re away.

Dogs stay with us in our home in West Hendred, near Wantage in Oxfordshire, where they become part of our daily life rather than being confined to kennels. With a large, secure private rear garden, peaceful countryside surroundings, and plenty of love and attention, your dog will enjoy a calm, enriching stay in a safe and familiar environment.

A Home-From-Home Experience

Your dog will live, eat, and sleep in our home with us, enjoying companionship, routine, and comfort throughout their stay. They’ll also have the chance to play and socialise with our friendly Golden Retriever, Chilli, who loves welcoming new canine friends.

    • Access to our large, secure private garden for supervised play, exploration, and downtime

    • Daily countryside walks in the surrounding Oxfordshire landscape, tailored to your dog’s age, ability, and energy levels

    • Supervised social time with our friendly Golden Retriever, Chilli, encouraging positive interaction and play

    • A calm, consistent routine to help dogs feel safe and at ease in a new environment

    • Plenty of affection, reassurance, and one-to-one attention throughout the day

    • Time indoors to relax in a comfortable home setting, just as they would at home

    • Mealtimes following your usual routine, with care taken around any dietary requirements

    • Regular comfort breaks and gentle monitoring to ensure your dog is happy and settled

    • A peaceful evening wind-down to help your dog relax and settle for the night

  • To ensure a happy and stress-free environment for all dogs in our care, we ask that dogs boarding with us:

    • Are well behaved and toilet trained

    • Are friendly and comfortable around other dogs

    • Are able to settle at night without human company, as dogs do not sleep in our bedroom

    • Unfortunately we cannot accept entire (uncastrated) male dogs

This helps us maintain a calm, safe, and enjoyable experience for every dog staying with us.

  • For added convenience, a pick-up and drop-off service can be arranged for an additional fee. Please contact us to discuss availability and pricing.

  • Prices

    • Home boarding – £50 per dog, per night

    • Second dog from the same household – half price

  • To help your dog settle comfortably and feel at home during their stay, we recommend bringing:

    • Your dog’s usual food and treats – to maintain their normal diet

    • Bed or blanket – a familiar scent helps them feel secure

    • Favourite toys – for comfort and playtime

    • Any medication or supplements – clearly labelled with instructions

    • Collar/harness and lead – for walks and outings

    • Rugs or clothing – if used at home

    • Feeding bowls – if you prefer us to use their own

    • Any special instructions – routines, habits, or quirks we should know about

This ensures your dog experiences the same comfort, routine, and reassurance they enjoy at home.
